MEDIAFOUR AND ALADDIN SYSTEMS BUILD SYNERGY
StuffIt technology to be bundled with MacDrive 2000
San Francisco, CA (05-Jan-2000) — Today,
Mediafour Corporation and Aladdin Systems, Inc. announced a licensing
agreement
in
which Aladdin's DropStuff and Expander for Windows software
will be bundled with Mediafour’s MacDrive 2000 for Windows.
The combination of Aladdin's software and MacDrive 2000
will enable Windows users to both compress and expand StuffIt
files on Mac disks. "Mediafour and Aladdin are always
looking for ways to improve the cross-platform computing experience,"
said Mediafour president and CEO Brian Landwehr. "We
are satisfying recent customer requests for such a solution. This
bundle does an excellent job of serving Mediafour's main
objective of increasing productivity by making computing easier."
Mediafour and Aladdin have worked together to adapt their products
so that they compliment one another. To aid in the adaptation,
Mediafour has issued a software developers' kit that enables
companies such as Aladdin to take direct advantage of MacDrive's
ability to access files on Mac disks from Windows. "The
kit makes MacDrive's technology accessible to third-party
software developers for the first time. Without such a
kit, a project such as this would likely be impossible," explained
Mediafour chief technology officer Richard Rockhold. "Together,
Mediafour and Aladdin have created impressively compatible products."
