MEDIAFOUR UNVEILS MACDRIVE 2000
MacDrive 2000 offers new features, as well as new retail presence
San Francisco, CA (05-Jan-2000) — Today,
at Macworld Expo in San Francisco, Mediafour Corporation debuted
MacDrive 2000,
a significant new version of its award-winning MacDrive software. MacDrive
2000 is new not only in terms of features and name, but also
in terms of appearance and presence. "We've
revamped everything to enhance MacDrive's move into retail
stores," said Mediafour president and CEO Brian Landwehr.
One of the most significant features of MacDrive 2000 is the
addition of support for Microsoft's new Windows 2000 Professional,
in addition to previously existing support for Windows 95, 98
and NT 4.0. The software also utilizes some new features
available only in Windows 2000. MacDrive 2000 is compatible
with a wide array of drive types, including USB and FireWire. Other
enhancements include support for MacBinary III files, even more
intuitive customization options, and more flexible options for
duplicating Mac disks from Windows.
MacDrive 2000 also bundles DropStuff and Expander for Windows
software from Aladdin Systems, which enable Windows users to
compress and expand StuffIt files on Mac disks. "By
further enhancing MacDrive and bundling Aladdin's software,
we have moved the quality and cost-effectiveness of our solution
well beyond any other product available," said Landwehr. "Too
few software companies strive for perfection. We do, and
I believe that it is evident in MacDrive 2000."
