CrossStripe enables Windows XP and 2000 users the ability to transparently access Mac-formatted drive arrays that were created with ATTO ExpressStripe software.

CrossStripe is perfect for efficient sharing of large projects between Mac OS and Windows systems. This special edition of MacDrive is perfect for video editors and other content creation professionals.

CrossStripe features

  • Works seamlessly with Windows XP and 2000
  • Supports both Standard (HFS) and Extended format (HFS+) disks
  • Works with both removable media and Mac striped drive arrays created with ATTO ExpressStripe software*
  • Shows appropriate icons and file name extensions
  • Preserves long file names
  • Formats Mac disks
  • Accesses multisession Mac CD-ROMs
  • Decodes downloaded MacBinary and BinHex files

*Note: CrossStripe is not able to work with drive arrays created in other software, such as Disk Utility on a Mac.

System Requirements


Cross Stripe runs on:

  • Microsoft® Windows XP (32-bit only) with Service Pack 2 or newer
  • Microsoft® Windows 2000

Additional requirements:

  • Installation of MacDrive requires less than 20MB hard disk storage
  • Low density (400KB and 800KB) floppy disks are not accessible due to drive limitations.

Disks MacDrive works with:

  • CrossStripe works with all FireWire (IEEE1394a/b), USB 1.1/2.0, SCSI, IDE, Fibre Channel, parallel-port and other disk devices supported by Windows
  • Works with both removable media and Mac striped drive arrays created with AVID Drive Utility, ATTO ExpressStripe, and ATTO ExpressRAID
